DiverCity Tokyo Plaza

The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue has stood in DiverCity's second-floor Festival Square since September 2017, when it replaced the original RX-78-2 Gundam statue that stood at the same Odaiba site from 2009 to 2017. Its public display is confirmed to end on August 31, 2026, following a farewell performance series. As of this page's last verification date of August 28, 2026, the statue remained on display.

No official replacement statue has been confirmed. Bandai Namco has framed the removal as a finale rather than a handover, though the franchise's history of statue succession makes a future successor plausible, entirely unconfirmed speculation at this stage. Anyone planning a dedicated trip specifically to see the statue, especially for a visit after August 31, 2026, should check the statue's official microsite for its current status before traveling. While the statue remains on display, daytime transformation shows run at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM, with rotating evening programs from around 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. This schedule applies only while the statue is up and should not be assumed to continue past August 31, 2026.

Whatever the statue's status turns out to be on the day of a visit, DiverCity remains a strong shopping, dining, and entertainment stop on the strength of its other tenants, starting with Gundam Base Tokyo below.

Gundam Base Tokyo, on the seventh floor, is described by several sources as the largest Gundam-themed store in Japan, with an extensive Gunpla model-kit selection, display exhibits, and a workshop area. Unlike the statue, it is a permanent, ongoing part of the complex.

Entry is free. On typical weekdays, walk-in access requires no ticket. On weekends, national holidays, and new model-kit release days, entry is managed through a pre-entry online lottery or on-the-day numbered tickets distributed at the seventh-floor store entrance, activated only when crowding warrants it. The Unko Museum Tokyo, on the second floor, is a colorful, interactive attraction built around a playful poop-themed concept that has proven popular with younger visitors and social-media-minded travelers alike.

DiverCity is also home to the world's first standalone Doraemon store, opened December 1, 2019, selling merchandise dedicated entirely to the character. Both stops pair naturally with a family-focused visit.

Round1 Stadium occupies several of DiverCity's upper floors with bowling lanes, karaoke rooms, and an arcade floor, one of the complex's most popular entertainment draws for groups and families. Each activity carries its own separate admission, not covered by the complex's free entry.

Weekends bring noticeably longer waits for bowling lanes than weekdays, worth factoring in when planning the order of a visit.

Tokyo Gourmet Stadium, DiverCity's second-floor food court, offers a range of casual dining options, and the complex's restaurant floors add further sit-down choices. Both draw favorable comments for using real utensils rather than disposable ones.

A dedicated tax-free counter on the second floor processes qualifying purchases of general merchandise and consumables totaling ¥5,500 to ¥550,000 (tax included) at one store on the same day, with a passport required at the time of purchase.

Beyond the headline attractions, DiverCity's roughly 150 stores span international and Japanese fashion brands and character and anime merchandise shops, worth a browse for anyone spending an hour or more in the complex. LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo is not inside DiverCity. It is a separate attraction at DECKS Tokyo Beach, a short walk away, a correction worth noting since some third-party content states or implies otherwise.
